Amy Johnson, Executive Director

Ms. Johnson currently serves as the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission’s first full-time Executive Director.  She is also providing executive leadership for the Arkansas Access to Justice Foundation and the Arkansas IOLTA Foundation. She joined the Commission’s staff after working for a year at the Arkansas Supreme Court as the Deputy Reporter of Decisions.  Prior to joining the Supreme Court, she was in private practice for six years, where she specialized in health care regulatory compliance.  During her time in private practice, Ms. Johnson handled more than twenty-five pro bono guardianships for families of developmentally disabled and mentally ill individuals.

Ms. Johnson is a founding board member of Harmony Health Clinic, a free health clinic that serves low-income uninsured residents of Pulaski County. She is also Chair of the Gertrude Remmel Butler Child Development Center Council and is Vice Chairperson of the Arkansas Commission for the Newborn Umbilical Cord Blood Initiative.  In addition, Ms. Johnson serves on the boards of Reach Out and Read Arkansas and Little Rock Community Mental Health Center.

Ms. Johnson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Hendrix College, where she graduated cum laude with distinction.  In 2002, she earned her Juris Doctorate with high honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law.

Ms. Johnson is married to State Senator David Johnson and they have three daughters.
