Discussion Groups

The conference will also have four discussion groups:

  • Family Law and Low-Income Arkansans
  • Consumer Law and Low-Income Arkansans
  • Housing Law and Low-Income Arkansans
  • Public Benefits Law and Low-Income Arkansans

Each discussion group will be divided into two sessions. During the morning session, participants will hear from Access to Justice Commissioners and legal aid attorneys about problems that low-income Arkansans face within their areas of poverty law. During the afternoon session, participants will reconvene and develop solutions to these problems. The Commission will compile these discussions and solutions into a report and submit it to the state’s two law reviews.

Conference attendees are asked to participate in both sessions of only one discussion group. You do not need to know anything about these areas of poverty law. When you register, we simply ask you to pick the discussion group that sounds most interesting to you.

Lunch, CLE Credit, and Fee

Lunch will be provided, as will three hours of CLE credit (including one hour of Ethics). If you want CLE credit, there is a $100.00 registration fee. If you do not want CLE credit, the conference is free.
