The Arkansas Access to Justice Commission and Foundation are gearing up to celebrate National Pro Bono Week from October 25-31, 2015. During Pro Bono Week, we work to bring awareness to the enormous need for civil legal help for low-income Arkansans, and we recruit members of the legal community to pitch in to help. One of the most fun ways we do this is through our annual Just Jeans event.
Rock your favorite jeans for justice!
Law firms, corporate legal departments, community organizations, government legal offices, judicial offices, and law schools can all help make a difference in the lives of Arkansans in need. Participating employees and students will make a minimum contribution of $5 to observe a Casual Friday on October 30, 2015. Contributions collected will support legal help for domestic violence victims, veterans struggling to readjust to civilian life, and children in need of stable homes or special education. If you or your office plan to participate in Just Jeans, register here by Wednesday, October 21 to receive stickers to distribute to participating employees and donation forms. Donations may also be submitted online. Stay tuned for details on prizes and other perks that will be available exclusively for participants.
Just by wearing jeans you can help low-income Arkansans, including domestic violence victims, children, and senior citizens, access the legal services that they need. We hope you’ll put on your Just Jeans for a very important cause: access to justice for all Arkansans.
