COMMISSIONER BIOGRAPHY
Charles W. Goldner, Jr., Commission Chair
Dean and Professor of Law, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law; B.A., 1971, DePauw University; J.D., 1973, University of Oklahoma; LL.M., 1987, Georgetown University
Dean Goldner serves as the Chair of the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission. During the 2005 legislative session, he was instrumental in the Commission’s initiative to establish the Public Legal Aid Fund, the first state mechanism to provide funding for civil legal services. In 2006, he moderated the Commission’s Town Hall meetings in each of the state’s four Congressional districts. Dean Goldner also currently presents the Commission’s CLE course “Justice: The Pro Bono Component.”
Dean Goldner was appointed Dean of the Bowen School in July 2000. He joined the faculty in 1988 after 14 years of private practice in Dallas and Washington, D.C. specializing in municipal finance and commercial real estate law. He teaches Local Government, Property, Real Estate Transactions and Legal Profession. His published articles in the area of local government have resulted in efforts to reform municipal law in Arkansas.
